Tangelo Shandy Cocktail

Tequila Tangelo Shandy // Don The Rocks

Tequila is far from my favorite spirit, but when it comes to beer cocktails I find tequila and Mexican beer are something of a match made in heaven. In this cocktail in particular, the tangelo juice and flavor of the beer will overpower the tequila, so it delivers quite the kick without the burn.

Summer may be a distant dream. In fact, it’s snowing right this moment here in the NYC suburbs, but tangelos are in season and that’s all the reason I need. Find your beach, right?

Tangelo Shandy Cocktail
14 oz. light Mexican beer (I used Sol, but Modelo Especial or Corona Light works just as well)
4 oz. tequila
1 oz. triple sec
1 oz. Rose’s lime juice
2 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 oz. fresh squeezed tangelo juice
2 lemon wedges
2 beer steins or mugs

Combine the beer, tequila, triple sec, and citrus juices in a measuring glass that fits at least 24 ounces. Stir and pour into the glasses. Garnish each glass with a lemon wedge before serving.

Sip smart,
Dane
