Alright, I think it is safe to say that we’ve put tequila on hiatus long enough. After Cinco de Mayo, I tend to steer clear of the spirit for a while (even though I wrote about non-tequila cocktails). In fact, I don’t spend too much time with tequila at all, though I do appreciate a good margarita. Fresh lime juice is the key, which is something my parents taught me when I was definitely too young to even know what margaritas were (read: so young I retired to sleeping on a pile of coats in the corner of the Mexican restaurant that same night).

Once again it has been some time since I last posted a recipe. The weather has been heating up, so I have been mostly drinking beer and the occasional gin and ginger during happy hour (yes, that’s my excuse).

Beer has never been a passion for me. I don’t prefer it over liquor or wine and I have been called lame on countless occasions for the beers I drink. So, with that in mind, I can now declare this a safe space for myself. I love wheat beers and I love bottled shandies. You cannot pass judgment because I already declared this a safe space, k?
